Fax

Description

Fax capability is wide-spread and often overlooked. A fax is simply image data transmitted over a standard phone line. Although email has replaced many of its functions, fax continues to evolve and new features (usually involving modulation, protocol, and compression) are added regularly.

Usage

Fax is useful for pushed messages that contain a large amount of text and low-resolution graphics. In many cases, customers that do not have access to email will have access to a fax machine.
